Hi lads,
I would like a suggestion about a gaming mouse, I have been using the original Deathadder mouse now for ages and I do like it.
However, I would like a mouse that is a step up with a few differences. My current Deathadder mouse, shine blue and although it is very shiny and pretty, I feel it is extravagant so it makes it taking to work a bit difficult and I cant turn off the lights despite trying everything.
Additionally, my wife likes to sleep on the couch late at night when I can play games, which is about 5 meters or so, and clicking the mouse is loud enough to wake her up frequently.
So my ideal mouse would be as accurate if not more so than this Death adder mouse, no in build lights and no loud noises when clicking the M1+2 buttons.
I can get pretty much any mouse if I am willing to go far enough, but I have been looking at the "Logitech G500 Laser" but I honestly have no idea about these things.
Please help me make a decision I wont regret.
Much appreciated

You can actually turn off the glowing blue light via the Razer manager.

Hi, yes I saw that option but it doesnt seem to work, I downloaded the new drivers and software and fireware or whatever it is called and it still didnt work. But the larger problem is the loud clicking. Besides, I think its time for a new mouse anyway. Any recommendations?

Hi again lads,
Ive been looking around the internet and it seems there are two major mice that jump out as good, the G9x and the G500. Anyone with these mice care to give their opinions?
Other suggestions welcome aswell -
I had a G9, and I didn't care for it because of the battery system on the particular one I had. It had this square battery and a charger "station" to put the other one in. You swapped them in and out when one died.
I love my copperhead. I've tried everything under the sun, but nothing beats it. Razer makes pricey gear, but it lasts. -

The new 3,500 DPI DeathAdder.
You might like the Logitech MX518. It's very similar to the DeathAdder; it's a 1,800 DPI optical mouse with 5 buttons and a right-handed shape. It doesn't have any lights though. -
Thanks for the suggestions, and yes I also love the Razer Deathadder, but it is very noisy to click though. This MX518 sounds attractive because it sounds similar to the deathadder. Is the new Deathadder the same as the old one except for higher DPI?
What makes this a bit complicated is that I dont want to lose any personal performance in fps and rts gaming but I wont something less noisy
That is why I am leaning toward this G500 and the G9, they seem to be comparable to the deathadder in terms of performance and dont look like they have the funny lights, no idea about the clicking loudness though
Im grateful for the suggestions though -
The new DeathAdder also has a braided fiber cable, which prevents snagging on stuff like desk corners and what not, and makes the cable a bit more resilient as well.

Hi again lads,
I plan to buy my new mouse next week and still have some concerns that I would appreciate some experienced opinion about.
I have decided to go with the G500 or the G9x, I have been doing some extensive research about them both. Many of the surveys, reviews praise the G9x as the king with very few complaints about it, while some others praise the G500 as the next king due to its G5 core design but there seem to be a few mixed opinions about it on the logitech forums such as the location of the lazer under the mouse.
There are also some mixed opinions about the G9x, such as not being able to turn off acceleration, but I believe some of these people to be nitpicking and I dont know what to be sure about.
Ive always had a lot of respect for this community and would appreciate your opinions. If someone owns one or both of these mice, your opinions would be greatly appreciated. -
Between the two, I would probably go with the G9X, simply because I loved my old G9 before I replaced it with the DeathAdder.
-
Ok, thanks for the suggestion. I still have a few days to decide but i probably will go for that G9x
Other suggestions always welcome -
I got another quick question for you guys regarding the G9x and the G500.
During my research, it seems that the rubber feet of the G5 wore off fairly regularly. Im wondering if anyone knows if this holds true for the G9x and the G500.
I like what I have read about the G9x, but the shape puts me off. I plan to go to the shop to see what it looks like in real life and how it will fit me.
Still very few opinions posted -
My G9's feet never had any issues with wear. If you're concerned, use a good mouse surface, and not a bare wooden desk or anything. Besides, that's something Logitech's warranty covers.

Thanks for the support Mastershroom
You have been a great help!
Will leave this question for other users who may have something to add or someone else with experience with the G00
