My mouse wire is causing me issues. I'd like to eliminate it. I don't want to compromise on performance or introduce any mouse lag. What are the major choices?
Currently using a logitech G9. How's the g700?

For wireless mice with full 1,000Hz polling, the main choices come down to the Logitech G700, Razer Mamba, Razer Naga Epic, and Cyborg R.A.T. 9.
The G700 uses an Avago laser senor, which is generally regarded as a superior sensor, and has plenty of buttons. The wireless transmitter is a tiny little USB nub. The downside to this is that you have to plug the mouse in via USB cable to charge it.
The other three use the Philips Twin-Eye laser sensor, which some self-proclaimed "mouse nerds" say is a poor quality sensor. Personally, I don't have any issues with my Mamba. I don't know if it's because of Razer's particular firmware or if the sensor is just not as bad as they say, but I've never had any trouble with Z-axis tracking or pixel skipping with my Mamba. I haven't tried the new 6,400 DPI dual-sensor version yet. The Mamba uses a USB dock as both its wireless transmitter and charging station, so you can just drop the mouse on top of it whenever you want to charge. You can still plug the mouse itself in if you like.
The Naga Epic is basically the Mamba, but with 12 thumb buttons. I wouldn't really bother unless you play a lot of MMO's and want your macros all available to your thumb.
The R.A.T. 9 is a physically adjustable mouse; you can change the size and shape to suit your hand. Neat concept, but I've read that it has very bad skipping issues on lift-off. -

but the g700 is good and precise? I was leaning towards logitech anyway

If the G9 fits your hand, i'd say get the G700, my naos 5000 has the same sensor as the G700 and so far i've had no issues.

Imo, the only choice is the G700 for a wireless mouse, the mamba has certain issues, as well as being not so portable and very expensive.

The G700 sensor is very good; I have never had any sort of tracking issues at all except for some strange movement issue that happened once or twice but went away when I disconnected and reconnected the mouse, and I'm pretty sure it was not an issue with the mouse but rather a computer or driver issue.
good choices for wireless gaming mice
