    I have been looking into a good new mouse. Right now I am using the HP comfort mouse, which is true to its name. I find that it is extremely comfortable and durable but I think I am going to need a new mice. Any suggestions on good mice (not too expensive) that are of a similar shape, I 'palm' the mouse (kind of),

    I do some gaming but not enough to want a really crazy mouse.

    The Razer DeathAdder comes to mind. It's a very comfortable mouse, perfect for palm gripping. It's a gaming mouse, but nothing excessive. 3,500 DPI with one of the best optical sensors out there, 5-button layout, and it's available in a left-hand version as well. It's also pretty cheap by gaming standards, at about $45 on Amazon (MSRP is $59.99). I have the original 1,800 DPI model from 2007 and the current 3,500 DPI model from 2009, both of which are still looking and ticking like new.

    The Logitech G400 is another good choice. It's a similar concept, 3,600 DPI optical mouse, comfortable palm shape, and similar price. Not available for lefties though.

    Good palm mice I have used and heard of is the razor death adder and g9x. I use the g9x and the larger grip feels like it's molded to my palm. I say at least try it by palming the mouse while its in the box at a retail store, since the mouse outline is shown throw the packaging, to see if it suits you.

    I thought I was a palmer but I have to say the Cooler Master Spawn beats out the Mionix 5000 comprehensively in terms of comfort for me. This plus the Sidewinders = zero hand pain, after living through onset of the ouchies with a variety of Razer/etc mice + mechanical keyboards.

    Those Mionix mice look pretty comfy. I wish they were wireless. After using a wireless mouse I don't think I could go back...

    The best way remains to palm one, but the Mionix are hard to find in brick and mortar stores. Also what mouse you will palm better will depend on the size of your hand. The razer and logitech should be easy enough to find in stores where you can try them.

    The two mice that come to mind are:
    * Logitech G400 - About $35
    * Razer DeathAdder - About $45

    You should be able to find both in a brick and mortar store like BestBuy, for slightly higher than those prices above (since BestBuy will charge you MSRP, and not online "street" price).

    Out of those two, I would recommend a Logitech G400. It is the replacement to the legendary Logitech MX518, which is regarded as one of the best bang-for-your-buck gaming mice you can find. It has an optical sensor (which I prefer over the laser imaging sensors in the Logitech G500 / G700 / G9X). And Logitech is an absolutely top-notch reliable brand with impeccable customer service. I have probably owned over 2 dozen Logitech mice in my lifetime, and not a single one of them has ever had a physical hardware defect.

    If you are buying the DeathAdder,recommend you buy the new black edition,same sensor & design,but the sides for thumb & pinky has been replaced with smooth rubber material,reducing accumulation of gunk.Oh,mouse wheel no longer glows.
