is there any difference between 100 dollar hdmi cables from futureshop and 18 dollar ones from ncix??
-
No, unless your cable must be abnormally long you will be fine with any old cable. Every HDMI cable has to meet minimum specifications anyways, so you are simply paying for the name and maybe a few unneeded extras with the $100+ cables. Order your cables from monoprice.com, you won't regret it.

Packing The Deal
Although it was done in Canada it will equally apply to the US and wherever cables are sold. -
I agree with Dabu. If you're planning on getting a cable around 2m, I doubt you'll notice a difference. I've have some 2m HDMI cables from Costco and they work great. You can also consider XtremeHD HDMI from Apple's website, I've heard they're good value. http://store.apple.com/1-800-MY-APPLE/WebObjects/AppleStore.woa/wa/RSLID?mco=7E4EB91E&nplm=TL951LL/A

I got a 2M one for $14.99 and it works well, although I'd prefer having a 6-7m one to use with my C90S.

Monoprice, Cables-to-go, Blue Jeans cable are all cheap and quality options -
My overall opinion on this subject is that if you're comfortable using $3 cables on expensive equipment then its a great deal. I'd rather pay slightly more for ones that have at least a warranty on them, if these ones do then it makes them even more of a bargain. Then again not cables in Monster price range.
In no way I am intending to bash anyones comments, this is just my opinion. -
True - but there are people over on AVSforum that have thousands of dollars of better equipment than most of the us ever will and still end up using those 3 companies I listed earlier. If its good enough to be recommended by people using really high-end AV gear, its good enough for me and my middle of the road gear.
Monoprice and Cables-to-go have lifetime warranties -
