I've always been using Razer gaming mices. Sincerely i had Diamondback 3G, Lachesis and actual is Imperator. All three were really comfortable and working like a charm.

What type of grip to do use your mouse? The G700 is a palm-grip mouse and is one of the most comfortable current-generation palm-grip mice you can get. If you find the G700 very uncomfortable, then you might be a claw-gripper and there are a few high-end gaming mice that are suited for the claw-gripper.

I have a g500. I like it, but if I were making the purchase again, I'd go with the g400. The wheel design on the 500 makes it awkward to use as a click button without accidentally scrolling.

Also there are lots of durability issues with people saying the left button going out after six-months or something...

I've had mine for almost a year now and the buttons are holding up fine. I did RMA the first one I got for an extremely minor issue (the woven casing around the cord separated and the rubber insulated cord was poking through).

For most people, it is, for me it wasn't, the steelseries Ikari and Mionis Naos have the perfect shape for me to palm though. As for claw grip, i'm not sure, but i think CMStorm has one made specifically for claw grippers.

Both previous are dead, gaming just reduce durability of my mice (dunno why :D ). No seriously the most confortable of theses 3 is the DiamondBack 3G.

I gave my dad a M510 for general usage and photo editing. I never expected it to be a competent gaming laser mouse though.

Yes! I bought a G500 in December 2010. Within a year it started to develop an issue with the left mouse button. It would every so often double click if I only clicked once. It happened so rarely that I didn't realize it at first. But then it got progressively worse. In windows I switched left and right mouse buttons, and it had gotten so bad that it double clicked 100% of the time. I knew I shouldn't have left my MX518 at my dad's house last time I was there! I picked up a G400 and it is much better. The reliability of the MX500/MX510/MX518/G400 series is almost beyond repute. Each one me or my dad ever bought is still functional. That is more than I can say about any other non-ball mice! My dad still uses his original MX500.

Also the G400 is a much better gaming mouse. The G500 has it's sensor very far forwards in order to accommodate the weight insert. This isn't optimal and it unbalances the mouse weight wise. So you are required to add some of the weights to it to regain a balanced feel that is common in mice without a weight system. But the best gaming mouse is a lighter mouse.

The only things I miss about the G500 are the onboard memory to save profiles and the free spinning scroll wheel when I'm not playing games, even though it is loose and feels like crap. But in every way that matters for gaming, the G400 is the superior mouse.

Im not sure why you disliked the G700, but based on the thread title, the G400 is a perfect match, High-end, comfortable and also cheap.

My g9x is doing exactly that right now. Didn't know that it was a RMA-able issue. Do they charge for shipping or anything like that?

Logitech RMA used to that they will send you a replacement free of charge. As of this year, you will have to ship out your defective mouse first free of charge and once they receive it, you will get a replacement back free of charge.

Ah okay. Might do just that when I get back home. Trying to remember if I registered my mouse with them yet though.
