been a long time since I've been on, but you guys haven't let me down before.

I am looking for a webcam or a camcorder that can be attached to my computer and used to record video. I am looking for reasonably high quality but nothing overkill.

if you want to use a standard, something that can produce a reasonable quality youtube video.

I am only going to be using this for recording things up close really, probably 12 feet would be the furthest but even that is stretching it.

My price range is around 50 dollars, I don't really want to spend more.

As for features, a built in mic would be acceptable, but only if it is really good quality, otherwise forget it. Also, if you could point me in the direction of something with a long neck that can swivel or move to be in multiple shooting positions then that would be awesome. Something like the camera linked below.

If not then please point me in the direction of something with a very good clip and I will procure my own stand.

    Much thanks in advance all.

I do like logitech, the problem is that those are mostly for attaching to a monitor and don't have stands. And the one with a stand only has a stick for a stand, it cannot be manipulated.

I appreciate the help, but unless there are aftermarket webcam stands that can bend and hold their positions, I will probably need something else.

    Anyone else have a suggestion?

    PS3 eye-toy

    Look it up!

It's so good most DIY multitouch builders use it because of it's 60FPS and amazing resolution and customizability and hackability blabalblala

(1280×720) at up to 30 FPS
I still don't believe those claims at all...

The PS3 can do (640×480) pixels @ 60 Hz/FPS and it is PROVEN...

My Microsoft webcam says it can do 720p @ 30fps, but in reality it's half of that

I say get a well reviewed 720p pocket camcorder or a used one.
Just look on Youtube for Flip Mino HD or something and you will see how many people use it and how good the quality is!
Get a Flip Mino HD or something, it will beat a webcam any day and it's portable!
