So, instead of buying a 50-80 Dollar laptop cooling pad, I thought, why not make your own? simple design yet works great. The one iam currently using is just a "prototype" since the paint job is not complete and the structure is not what the final one will look like. However, It has made an improvement over not having one at all, by over 8-10c in both GPU and CPU's. In the final version I plan on running two fans with one fan concentrating over the the hard drive.
I will post SS of the prototype shortly but will post my ATItool/SpeedFan results.
with
without.
It needs some work, but, I think it was a good idea and fun to make.

^ Actually, I just recently made my own cooler (made it to cool the CPU), and it's been working very well. I was thinking of making a guide, as I made some small yet useful modifications to it. I may get the guide up, but seeing as how I've already built the cooler, I don't know how to get the pics of the building process up (don't want to hijack thread).

These are some pics that i took of the 'prototype" laptop cooling pad that i made. It is a prototype and when i get some time i will get the dual fan one working along with a nice paint job and so on. Anyway, here are some pics.

using a 12V 4.5Amp AC Adapter with a switch is what is powering the fan. This adapter can hold more then 4 fans on this. However that would be over kill. Step by step will come along with the full completed version of the cooler.
Thanks! -
really nice, im going to build my own when I get my lappy

It is not the prettiest thing to look at haha, but it looks like it gets the job done! Keep us posted on how this ends up working and any more progress you make!
