I use the hp remote ...i think its a good thing to have...you can control the media player buttons...presentations ...DVD's and stuff without reaching over to the keyboard ( assuming you are 10 ft away from your laptop...)...its a nifty thing to have for such a low price...

sweet, i didnt know how to use it when i was messin around with my friends hp remote, i thought maybe it could of brought media player up but i guess not.
-
the remote can do all the common media player commands like play/pause and fast forward it can also raise and lower the volume turn off your computer and switch display options
and im sure it can be configured to do other things -
right on i'll have to play around with it when i get it
-
if that doesnt work i would go with the Keyspan Digital Media Remote... you configure it per application, per button....for example:
if you want to pause a DVD your playing in VLC Media Player, and the key is the spacebar, you would use the software to bind the pause button on the remote to the spacebar....easy as pie!
A Froogle to show the pricing
I got mine at provantage.com for 27 bucks after shipping and it was well worth it. -
The HP remote is very sweet. Love how it stores in the ExpressCard slot, so you don't have to remember to bring it with you, or figure out where you put it.
I listen to my laptop for music in my bedroom, so having a remote to increase/decrease volume, change songs, etc. it very nice! Great range... I can easily lay in bed and make changes while listening to music.
Also works with some video players.....
Hey, for $15 (if purchased when ordering your HP), it's a great deal! -
how does it store in the card slot, i mean does it easley fallout or anything like that?
