how many ports is "lots of usbs"?

since USB supports daisy chaining it won't really be an issue with speed as long as it's a 2.0 port and a 2.0 hub, any speed issues will be caused by deferred procedure calls from too much demanding hardware (like if you're using a USB sound card, USB NIC, etc)

it will be a problem if those draw much power as an USB-hub is splitting one(1) usb-port into several with the help of the USBports on the hub. So you'll share all those devices on 1 usb-port. Be sure to get an externally powered USB-hub if you wanna be sure that it works fine.

$65 is quite expensive for a Belkin hub. Better shop around.

I only paid like half of that for an AC powered Logitech hub.

Go with Belkin. I too am looking for a good USB hub and found the NBR review of a few belkin ones useful. Average price: USD $35. The units seem decent to me.
