colud you please tell me whether I would be able to use them longer than a weekand have better quality sound than inspiron6000 speakers? I'm not talking good quality, but better than the one I have already build-in

Well, I'd invest into at least a 2.1 speaker system, shouldn't bee too expensive...
The Logitech x-230's should be around $25 -
6 watts, hmmm...
-
I recently purchased the Logitech Z-2300 2.1 system and it is great for the price, aroud 80$. CNET rated them 9.
-
but you guys are talking about complete different price range. the set I've found is $6 deliverd! I just need cheap speakers (though better than the build-in ones) for 2-3 months until I have money to buy something serious...
zxc -
For $6 you cannot get anything good. So it doesn't matter.
-
Personally, I would stick with the laptop speakers for a few months rather than buy $6 speakers. Don't expect much in the sound quality department, although they may be slightly louder.
How serious are the speakers that you plan to buy? -
I guess you're right. I know that for $6 bucks you cannot buy good quality, but I thought that maybe they are not that bad...
Well, basicly I want to buy whole stereo with tower speakers and plug my laptop in it. I haven't look around in terms of prices but for the speakers I plann to spend up to $200. But like I said: at least 2-3 months from now and by that time I would use some external speakers..

Maybe they are not that bad. Nobody said they were. It's just that there are thousands of models of cheapo speakers. In general, their quality is mediocre, but occasionally you can find something extraordinally good for its price. You just never know until you try, and there can be a lot of hit and miss here. That's why nobody here can help you evaluating those speakers.

hmm... I see. thank you for that.

The Creative looks good.
No point in getting a 5.1 if you don't have a 5.1 sound card though -
well, I have inspiron6000 with integrated sound - would it support 5.1?
-
You'll need to buy a 5.1 sound card, like the Audigy 2 ZS for laptops, or something similiar.
Or a S/PDIF optical converter. -
wow, looks very interesting
I definetely want something like this soon...
but how you connect this out? through jack port?
what's that? I can't find information obout it.

ps. Crumpler bags are very nice

LOL
Basically, it is a PCMCIA slot sound card, just push it in, install some drivers and you'll get 5.1 sound as long as you have a 5,1 sound system. The card itself has outlets, I think 3 for the 5.1 surround sound.
The S/PDIF converter is an optical plug that connects to high quality speakers, but you won't need a sound card in that case -
Point is if you want surround, you need to get a surround-capable PCMCIA sound card, which will cost you as much as the speakers.
For a laptop I'd just get good 2.0 or 2.1 speakers and that's it. Those Creative speakers indeed look nice. I've heard that the Creative SBS 2.1 sound better than the Creative Inspire 2.1, despite being cheaper. -
Go for these:

No need for batteries or separate power supply.
Ideal. -
Only availiable in Europe though..
-
I got a Creative 2.1 set for like $25 at friggin' Walmart....the speakers actually sound pretty nice, take up hardly any desktop space, and they were cheap...
-
I recommend this one:

Cheap and sound great, much better than logitech's that cost 3x more.
Just get some rechargeable AAA to go with it.
inexpensive speakers
