indoor antenna or outdoor? (place it nearer to sky)

check www.antennaweb.org to see where to place the antenna(if its a directional) for optimal quality

and the Pinnacle PCTV Ultimate SUCKS... return it if possible.... i had it, just sucked so badly, sold on ebay(though sold it more than i bought it for, so theres the only bright side)....

If digital TV in the US in anywhere near similar to the stuff in Europe...

    Anyway:
Generally, the antenna is key, i.e. bad signal, good, big & expensive antenna can help - problem here, a bit pointless with a laptop...

Generally digital TV reception in buildings will always be bad - best places are generally near windows.

    Avoid concrete and metal "grids"...

i have the AverMedia Volar Max.... its so much better(Works in Vista Media Center x64, ClearQAM works in VMC, much better support[drivers, program], much better antenna included[though u can buy ur own antenna... id recommend the Terk HDTVa for a good indoor antenna], doesn't get as hot, no remote though)

I got a Terk TV antenna from Amazon for around $20 and it greatly improved the signal. Agree with Antenna web, check there with your ZIP before positioning it. It should let you know what channels you can receive.
