i splattered some oily water (noodles) on my keyboard of my new laptop, and while all keys are still functioning the A key doesnt feel right, responsiveness is weird and doesnt click right. This is important because its a gaming laptop and it's the A key. My question is, is this an easy fix, pop it off and soak in water, buy a external keypad, or return my laptop (still under have a few days)

They will know if it is user caused damage. They inspect the laptops your return.

like i said there is no realy damage it was more of a really light splash than a spill, the only problem is a very slight difference in responsiveness of the key to touch, something they probably wouldnt notice or be able to attribute to user caused

I long ago accidentaly took off the 'Tab' & 'A' Key on the laptop..i put it back & it worked fine for next 2 yrs..
For Water Spill, u should blow Hot Air Blower over it in Sweep Motions to dry out any retained moisture..

On what date exactly did this spill occur?

You could always call and ask for a replacement from the manufacturer. Most laptop makers will ship out a new keyboard no questions asked, nor require the return of the broken one.

    *ahem* --- FRAUD

Dell isn't stupid. Return the keyboard like that, and you'll probably be in for a nasty surprise from them.

tried emailing them they sent this

If letter is not working properly or not
clicking, I recommend sending the notebook for service. The keyboard or
    keys are not user replaceable.

its really such a subtle flaw that you'd have to be in an intense game where you were constantly left strafing with the A key to notice

Probably some sticky stuff on the underside. I'd try cleaning it first.

Do NOT use a hair dryer type device on a keyboard.

The keys on laptops are thing, and are prone to contort when exposed to heat.

I had a USB keyboard with laptop keys, i used a hair dryer.. the keys just contorted in 1 or two areas and rendered the board unusable.

Pop off the keyboard and put it in a dishwasher. Make sure it is totally dry before putting it back.
