    can anyone tell me how to properly ocnnect laptps with 5.1 speakers? mines connected but it doesnt seem to work.

    what 5.1 speakers are you using? does it come with it's own sound card?

    You need a sound card then, either external USB, or depending on your notebook, a PCMCIA or ExpressSlot sound card. If you have high end speakers, there is also optical out(S/PDIF).

    I like how the Audigy card markets itself as a great card for "at home or on the go".

    yeah, I carry my 5.1 with me everywhere.
