    Hi guys,

    A little help needed here.

I got a rather old Toshiba Satellite L30 laptop and I have a Benq G2222HDL external monitor.
I want to hook the monitor up to the laptop but I encountered some problems.

Since the laptop only has a D-sub video socket and the monitor only has a DVI cable I bought an adapter. So now the DVI cable goes into the adapter and the adapter goes into the D-sub socket of the laptop.

The problem is the monitor still says "No signal detected".
I have set up the display properties to be an extended desktop but still nothing.

What do you think, where is the problem? what can I do?
