hi, i have 2007version logitech G5, and recently i noticed that when i scroll on the scroll wheel, it produces annoying squeaking noise. it is rather annoying as the squeakig is quite loud, like a rusty door that needed oiling. i only been using this for around a weeks or so. but i bought it last month.

is this normal? should i try to get a replacement?

I'd say that isn't normal. When I scroll extremely fast it sounds like a faint zipper, but not a rusty door... If I scroll slowly, it's near silent.

is the scroll wheel durable? it seems logitech has drop their game lately :(

if i press the scroll wheel and scroll at the same time is that bad for the mouse? because my friend might have done that when they use my computer.

I'd ask for a replacement perhaps. Mine just clicks when I scroll (zipping as Gotei described), no squeaking though. I've read about people who have had good customer service with Logitech, so give them a call.

Actually i read on CNET that G5 has this issue ...the scroll wheel undergoes wear & tear very easily....but u can always ask for replacement if it undergoes premature wear&tear ...just be determined to get the replacement.
