there is no pro advice for EQ, you just set it to what sounds good to you.
most "pro" guys gawk at EQ anyways and prefer flat "natural" sound without any modification from the original source. -
so should i just keep it at factory settings,,, what seeting does anyone have htier logitech heasets, set at???? whether u have the wireless g930 or its wired brother?
-
Uh with ALL headsets I keep my settings to default, everything else just distorts the actual sound tbh
-
The only recommendation I'd personally make is to max out the 'sidetone' setting so you sound close to natural (to yourself) while talking.
-
Does the G930 have an EQ or bass/treble controls like the G93? If the latter then I have the bass on the third notch, and the treble just below the third notch (default).
It's audiophiles who have varying use of it, due to various assumptions or otherwise. You do also get a lot of the 'I EQ for quality' types who can't actually tell sound quality. -
A gamer wants accurate reproduction of surround sound, environmental sound processing, and a visceral impact from the thumps of gunfire / explosions.
So when you read advice from hardcore audiophiles that tell you that XYZ is awesome, or ABC is garbage, keep in mind that they are not gamers, and are not evaluating sound hardware for gaming. -
ok well thanks for the advice guys,,, looks like ill just keep her at default? i guess...

Then when I play games... I want the same thing.
2 channel audio is all you need for 100% full coverage of positional audio in games and I like games to sound as natural as they are supposed to as well.
For EQ settings, there is not good, better, best, worst - EQ is totally individualized. If you feel the highs are too harsh drop them down, if you want more boom, raise up the bass.
Thats all there is too it, set it to what sounds good, and if you want to hear the unaltered original soundtrack & sounds then keep it flat. -
I love this headset so much. I'm hoping the recent announcement that Android 3.1 tablets will have USB host features means that the G930 USB stick will work with tablets... if not, I'll do without, but man do I love these headphones.
I don't use EQ. It distorts all the sound to your preferences. For me, as-is is good enough - hell, I don't even use the 7.1 surround sound much. But listen to your music / games and try playing around with the settings.
If it sounds better for you, then keep it! That's all EQ is - it lets you customize the sound to your own preferences. If you like what you hear, you're all set. -
yeah i love this headset,, sooo good, i have not seen one negative review at all.... by far best bang for the buck... i can get like 60 feeet range, i wear them while cutting the grass,,, and it doesnt distort at all.... no interference or anything. simply awesome, its almost a steal for the price of quality of the head set.
the only thing i wish, was longer battery, but thats just being picky... 10 hours battery time, i run it out usually only because i have it on alll day long.
bass is really good, it even sounds way better than my buddies 200 dollar beats audio..... im not saying they are better than high end head sets,, but for the price range, they can go toe to toe with the best ou there... and for wireless. simply no competition considering how small the reciever is..... -
I just got these headphones and cant understand what you guys say about the bass (or I have done something wrong).
In default settings the bass for gaming is really awful. It sounds like cheao 10$ headphones. bass is just overwhelming in a bad uncontrolled way and it sounds awful. this is at 7.1 surround. if I change to 2.0 stereo then sound is totally Dull and it sounds like most sound is coming from right speaker only.
what can be wrong..? I know several others got this issue as well

I'm probably going to pick this headset up solely for the wireless feature. There seems to be problems, but so far I've seen fixes, and if they suck i'll take them back. -

I did not like them either. Sent them back after a few days because I had hoped for a good casting headset. However the mic was the worst quality of any I had ever used. $3.00 wallwart emergency mic works better.
I hope and pray mine were defective, didnt want to take the 15% restock fee so I sent them in for RMA (my charging dock was defective anyways so I did warrant RMA)
At any rate even if my mic was defective there is no denying the reason they sound "good" is all software emulation driven. Install and use these as a generic usb audio device where the software cant artificially enhance the sound and it will quickly become painfully obvious how poor quality they really sound compared to some good headphones.
So your forced to use the Logitech drivers, wich then of course lie to your computer and tell it that its a 7.1 device when it is only a 2.0 device and that can cause issues with sound mapping for programs because the Logitech software does not intercept the sound properly and sends it to the wrong speaker, or I should say does not send it (hearing voice chat in one speaker only)
