Hey all,
So i recently got myself one of the Asus F8SV-A1 laptops (mucho happy with it so far!), and my only concern is with the glossy screen and the possibility of it getting scratched...what I'm hoping to find is not necessarily one of those mats you place on the keyboard when you close it, but rather something like the InvisibleShield that you can get for various electronics, that'll actually cover the screen and prevent any chance of scratches when the laptop's actually open. I can't actually find any specific 14" protector on the InvisibleShield website either, so I'm at a loss :\
That and I'm looking for a possible new laptop bag. I have a few, but I'm just not entirely happy with them... See, my problem is I'll usually bring my laptop over to my g/f's place and usually stay over, which means I need a spare set of clothing, and when I've got the laptop, my mouse, the power adapter, and a few other things, the bag gets quite cramped... What I'm really looking for is one that isn't too bulky, but can handle all that stuff, and I would LOVE if it had a pocket on the side where I could store the power adapter (i find having it in the accessory slot really starts making it too bulky... Don't want to spend TOO much but since it's my company laptop I'm willing to spend up to maybe $100 as I can expense it...
So yeah, any help in either query would be much appreciated!![]()

How about this laptop bag?
-
Well, at first I wasn't too keen on that one...I prefer the messenger style bags and that one looked a little awkward at first...but you know, considering I do a lot of cycling in the warmer months, the fact it's convertible to a backpack would be awesome...
Thanks for that one! -
ugh...unfortunately i can't take advantage of that deal as it looks like they don't ship to Canada (or at least I can't figure out how they would since you can't enter a non-US address... )
-
Try emailing them with your screen dimensions, and ask if they will do a custom job. Always size up. -
Awww, good luck then....cause that's $5 for a bag like that...first time ever I got something out of slickdeals (slickdeals.net).

Couple of different suggestions for the bag, the Mobile Edge Express Backpack and the Premium V-Load. There are reviews of both on MobileEdgeBlog.com. I've personally travelled with the Premium V-Load and have had no problem fitting all my laptop gear plus some clothes.
-
Thanks for the info! I kinda like the Premium V-Load one...
It's too bad that one with the deal can't get here...that actually looks like the perfect one for meMaybe I'll try looking at some local comp stores...
Thanks for the info guys! Keep in giving it if you've got some more -
Thanks JonBook! Just actually ordered the one for the Asus W3V model as it's also a 14.1 widescreen, and suire enough the order came up as 'NuShield for 14.1" widescreen laptops'
So i guess it really doesn't vary so much depending on model, just the size of the screen.
Now i just gotta find me that bag... f4ding, I'm more and more tempted just to find that bag you showed, locally, despite the obvious price increase...or maybe eBay -
well, grabbed the Targus Brilliance Bag. Think I'll like it because of the space and interoperability between messenger bag and backpack. Feels a little weird as a messenger bag at the moment because I'm used to a bag that's longer horizontally than vertically
Thanks all for the info! I should be all set up once I get the NuShield in the mail -
I have a regular messenger bag (longer horizontally) that also has a backpack strap, and when I use it as a backpack, it looks weird. Basically you have a backpack that's longer horizontally. LOL.

lol, can't say I've seen one of those before, but yeah I'd imagine that'd look kinda weird
Thanks for the info on that backpack...I have the feeling I'll definitely enjoy having it since I tend to bring my laptop all over the place and wanted something a little more substantial if I'm taking it on a plane (because god knows sometimes you have the need to have an extra set of clothing when your luggage doesn't arrive when you do!)
looking for Screen protector and possibly laptop bag
