OK I am ordering parts for a friend and I need to get him a mousepad that is solid because he will not be using his notebook on a flat surface. I personally use an icemat but I don't think he is keen on a glass pad. he will be using a laser mouse so i needs to be laser compatible. kinda looking in the $15 or less catagory. found this on newegg but I am not sure if its solid or not. I think it is. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16817114135 suggestions?

IMO, I think investing in a mouse pad is a waste. A dollar mouse pad will function as well as an expensive one, again, that's must MO.

I think I worded it wrong. he will mostly be using the pad on his bed so a floppy pad is not feasible. it needs to be hard/solid

    ghetto suggestion:

Get a piece of ply wood or two layers of cardboard, cover it in fabric. Staple to fabric to the bottom.

optional: write mousepad on it with a sharpie.

    More practical suggestion:

Use a book and put a floppy pad on it.

The fUnc series mousepads are some of the best. I actually have a 1030 and an Archetype that are in real good condition to sell if your friend would be interested.
