    hi everyone I have a rev 2 omen 17 inch laptop
    I am looking for a good cooler for my omen . most I have looked at will have a 17inch laptop hanging over the sides .
    can any one sugest one ?

    The questions that come first are

    What are the thermals?
    and
    Does it have vents appropriate for a cooling pad.

    Usually, laptop cooling pads are a rip-off that barely affect thermals and only serve to add more noise to what is, in most cases, an already louder-than-average system.

    The first things I'd suggest doing are undervolting the CPU and potentially the GPU so as to make sure you are using only as much voltage as needed for the clockspeeds they run at. Intel typically overvolt their CPUs by 100-120mV meaning that most people decrease their load temps by 5-6*C simply using XTU to undervolt.
