For a carrying case, I recommend a backpack. It's easier just to sling it over one or both shoulders and carry on your back; you'll hardly fell the weight. You can also move more freely. My backpack is made by Targus, which is a big name in laptop bags, and works well for me.

As for a mouse, I'm also a lefty, but I've always used it with my right hand. There are many good mice that can be used with either hand, just try them out and pick one that feels right. I don't recommend a Bluetooth mouse. They're more expensive than just a simple USB optical mouse, and they run out of battery, and they're more bulky. But that's just a preference; the wireless ability of Bluetooth is nice. Logitech makes great mice, and so does Razer.

You can pick this stuff up at an electronic store, or Best Buy / Wal-Mart / Office Max / Radio Shack / Staples, etc.

I agree with Elkid about backpacks. It's soooo much better than a standard shoulder bag.

About mice - I'm using Logitech V400, very good mouse and suitable for left-handed as well as for right-handed. The battery life is also very impressive and you are not bound by wires - good for making presentations
