Sony would be the first choice, but what it comes down to is do you need a presentation mouse?

Have you tried the Logitech VX Revolution? It's not bluetooth, has a small wireless usb(instant plug and play) adapter, that stores inside the mouse. But what made me choose this one was the comfort of it. It fits in your hand better then any other notebook mouse out there. It's a little bigger but that's no problem.

    @kuwaitgroup:

Once you have the Microsoft Wireless Notebook Presenter Mouse 8000, can you post whether the USB receiver is really needed? On the Microsoft website they mention one should use the Bluetooth tranceiver for best compability, but how does the device work with built-in Bluetooth receivers?

    Thanks!

I've been using the V270 for some months. For me, one of the advantages is that, if the computer has Bluetooth, then you don't need to occupy a USB port with a mouse dongle. The V270's battery life is good (and to keep costs down I use rechargeable batteries). However, it is a full-sized mouse and while being very comfortable to use, is a little bulky for travelling.

i give it a 4-5 , because the presentation buttons are not customizable.

I have been using the V270, and I really like it. It does the lag some people complain about (occurs only when you start using it after being inactive for a minute or so), but I can totally live with it. At first I put on both AA batteries, and thought it was too heavy, but luckily it works with just one (which lasted for a month of heavy use without turning it off all the time).

I tried it with my T60p and the microsoft mouse is not recognized without the USB transceiver. I got the Apple mighty mouse and Logitech V270 and they are both recognized by the T60p without any USB transceivers.

I didn't know Sony had a bluetooth mouse, I saw MX910 in Taipei last week and I didn't buy it b/c I foolishly thought it was available in American, but it isn't!!! I am still mad at myself for not buying it...

Not Really , When i got the mouse , it needed the original microsoft bluetooth reciever , but i paired it to my built in sony vaio bluetooth , and it works beautifuly , not only that , i even installed the software , and my bluetooth software even recognise the mouse full fuctions without a problem, even it says in the setup , if u wish to use a third party bluetooth device.

So far im lovin it , small , comfterble , mobile , silent hehe (click click click)

And Another Thing , i dont recommend this mouse for gaming, not because there is a problem with it , its because if u play counter strike , Battle field 2 , u need to scroll through your gear using the middle mouse scroll , and this mouse doesnt have the clicks between scrolls , it kinda goes all the way , for fast web scrolling. so i totaly dont recommend it for gaming. i do play WOW & guild wars with it , but those are RPG games , which is only " right click , left click "

i wish this review helped ,

    thank you

I never install any mouse software, maybe that's why it didn't get recognized. But, the Logitech V270 and mighty mouse were recognized without any software needing to be installed.

well currently iam using it , It Is So Far Great , Battery I Cant Say For Sure , because i didnt use it for long i just got it , but its a nice notebook mouse. And for the buttons , the ones on top , they are customizable but not the ones on the bottom , for the media controls , u do have volume control , and play and pause , it works perfectly only on Windows media player. im not sure that any other software the play and pause would work , but volume control , works .

    Thank You

Thanks for the info...I got one a few days ago and i love it..the media buttons on the bottom seem to work with all of the video players i have...abit of a shame there are no fast forward or rewind functions though..
range looks to be about 10-15 feet...set was easy and i'm using my built in bluetooth not the dongle...all in all very good so far.....
Have you noticed a small sqeak when using the left mouse button?

Yea , Its an Amazing Mouse - Truly U cant enjoy The Presentation Buttons And they are not customizable. But Still There Are Lots Of features In the mouse , Media Control Is amazing , Yesterday i was watchin Tv Show 24 on itunes , and i switched my Mouse Mode By clicking the button under the scroll to Media Mode - So I Controlled The Volume Without Goin Back To My laptop Desktop And Adjusting it.

And the answer for your question , Yes , Some people are complaining Regarding getting the mouse with the squeking left button , and they have returned it to get one in perfect condition , Mine Doesnt squeak.

if u want u can return it, its up 2 you.

    Thank You

V270, it has a better price point, and many users will not need the presentation buttons. Other than that, the Microsoft mouse sounds interesting.

The V270 came free with my laptop. I thought it was ace and the batteries lasted ages too. A few Months ago i bought the Microsoft 8000 BT Mouse. It's not the presenter one. Its larger than the logitech and there are more buttons too. The rechargeble battery lasts ages and it comes with a neat charger pad. It's extremely comfortable and great for gaming too.

Yes, I tried the VX Revolution, it's super-comfortable for a notebook mouse. However, I got the v270, because I was crazy about bluetooth and because the Microsoft exceeded my budget.
Even so, I'm not really into those presentation controls and what-not, so the v270 suits me well.

If you have BT, can you use any mouse without a receiver. I have the V270 and it is okay, but want something better, without a dongle.

The V270 works on any bluetooth enabled laptop, so no dongle is required if your laptop has bt built in. Make sure you have the V270 because the V200 looks the same but it needs the dongle.

Is there a mouse out there that is exactly the same as the V270 (Bluetooth, good battery life, one OR two AA batteries, 1000 dpi, same shape) but has forward and backward buttons? I use a microsoft intellimouse with 5 buttons and I absolutely love it, but I would really like a wireless mouse (with no usb reciever).

For some reason, I was never able to use a Bluetooth mouse.. sometimes it would not connect, other times I had to pair every day.. then the Logitech VX Revolution came to my life !! Absolutely the best notebook mouse I have tried! Give it a shot!

I used this trick to get Fast-forward: Use program-specific settings and map the right-side button to the keystroke CTRL+SHIFT+F and the left one to CTRL+SHIFT+B for windows media player. FFW works great on WMP 10, but rewind doesn't seem to be supported on most file types like mp3.

    HTH.
