So I've had three logitech mice fail on me in about 2 years or less because of mouse click failure (cannot click and drag). My mx1000 was the first to fail but lasted over two years. My g9x failed in less than 2 years, and the replacement they sent me lasted less than a year. I've done a google search on durable mice, and it seems logitech is the best, and razor appears to be the worst culprit. Are there any other companies out there that make reliable mice? I have a feeling these mice are built to fail quickly so these companies can make a buck off of us, but maybe not.

My Cyborg R.A.T 9 mouse has never had a problem, and I had that for about 2 years. I also have a simple logitech lazer mouse thats at least 5 years old, still works great.

You can open up the mouse and fix the switch yourself. You don't even need to replace the switch. The problem is that a flat spring inside the switch can be bent out of shape a tiny bit, so all it takes is a little bending it back into the correct shape. It is impossible to get it wrong.

Also I wouldn't say that Logitech's quality is good, just that everyone else's quality is just a bit worse than Logitech. In the past Logitech's quality was something to be proud of, but not these days, even if they are still the best.

Hmm, will have to try that out. It's not like I have an issue with the body of the mouse or the laser or the cord.

I'm just going to through Leap Motion out there' I know its not really a mouse per say, but you never touch it, so in theory it should last until it is obsolete.

My G9x has been working well over the past two years I've been using it. Perhaps you got lemons?

The left mouse button switch going bad is one of the most common failures in mice. I have also had a Logitech G500's left mouse button go bad in less than two years. It is a common problem.

No. Those are not any less prone to failure.

I know. Rugged doesn't necessarily equal durable. But at least the OP would have a mouse he can drop in the mud and still have it work.
