most protective sleeve out there?

i'm currently on the lookout for the most protective laptop sleeve for my asus notebook. i've seen neoprenes and the zeroshock. the zeroshock looks nice. i'm from the philippines however, so i can only spot such things online. any others?

From the pictures it looks like it's just leather but it has two protcted sides and then elastic straps to cushion the other sides. To me this seems protected but also slim enough to carry around. I don't know if it offers the best protection but it's good enough for me. I also don't know if it's available near you but there is a list of partner sites at the bottom and that's who I ordered through. Good Luck.

 

Neoprene sleeves are good for basic protection, especially from the elements. Mine have taken many spills of coffee and protected my various machines. You can also wash them in some soapy water which is a plus after spilling a 7-11 slurpee....yeah, I can be clumsy.

The cover by Swiss Army gear is not bad, but not suited to be used by itself unless you get a shoulder strap or stuff it in a notebook. That sleeve came with my WebSak bag and it is a hard, plastic case. The drop protection consists of 4 elastic bands at the bottom. I wouldn't suggest it as on overall carry case because it has an open top (although there is a velcro band that goes scross the top) and it doesn't have room for extras (power block, cables, etc.). If you are looking to use it with a bag you already own, then this sleeve is an excellent choice...just make sure your bag is at least 1800 cubic inches.

 

thanks for the input so far. i just wanted one that could fit in my bag (Booq MAMBA XS) and would provide enough protection to carry my notebook around when i don't need/want to put it in the mamba. for example, i use the mamba bag to go to work. but when i've got a meeting or something, i need to bring the notebook with it to the conference room or whatever. i don't wanna put it in the bag again. but i want the "sleeve" to provide the most protection just in case i drop it [ ]

 

That being said, the Swiss Army gear sleeve would probably fit your situation. You can stow it in your bag with your laptop and then just remove the sleeve when you just need to carry your laptop around. Keep in mind that most 'drop protection' only protects one side (usually the bottom). If your laptop drops on any other side, start praying. I'd also suggest looking on eBay. I bought a case for my Toshiba Libretto which was semi hard plastic, zipped all the way around, and was completely cushioned inside. While the Libretto is a sub-notebook, the same company did offer cases for larger models. Might be worth searching for.

I dunno where you can buy these, but the sleve in my pic is the one that comes with the XPS'... and it's quite durable... I think you could probably score one from Dell...
