I am getting ready to purchase a 6000 or 9300 as I am still trying to decide. I will need a external mouse. Should a purchase the Dell 2 button mouse or is there a better option?

    Hi there.

Depends whats he mouse is for, for regular use, any mouse should be fine, whether it be Microsoft, Logitech or Kensington.

However it gets more detailed if you want Optical, Laser, Wireless, Bluetooth, etc.

Most people aren't very fond of em, but for me, a trackball is a great option for a notebook. you don't need a large, or even a flat surface. I've been using the Cordless Optical Trackman since I got my i9300 and I love it :)

Wireless is pretty cheap nowadays, I'd go that route. Bluetooth if you can get it.

What's your budget and what are you looking for? You can take it easy and get a basic optical mouse, or you can upgrade a little and go for the laser ones which actually start at $40-$50 now.

I only go for wired optical 5-button mice, where the wheel functions as a third button (it is on all mice) and there are two buttons on either side that I use for back-forward. I don't feel the point of wireless - instead of having one piece to connect, you'll have one piece to connect and another one to carry around.

I bought a Logitech Mediaplay mouse yesterday because it had the back and forward button... was pretty much the only one with those buttons at the store, but I am not sure how much I like it or even if I will be keeping it. Gonna try it out for a few more days and decide whether or not I want to keep the thing.

Logitec is the best IMO, check out the v500. It rocks!
