i just bought a compaq presario from walmart and the touchpad hardly works, and sometimes doesn't even work at all. i remember my last laptop's touchpad was temporarily sensitive and after a while worked fine, but i'm thinking the touchpad on this one is screwed up. i don't want to buy a mouse because i'd rather just use the touchpad on a laptop but i guess i'll have to. do other people have this problem?

Have you tried adjusting the sensitivity for the touch pad?

Try exchanging it, or adjust the sensitivity on the Mouse settings.

What mouse did you buy? I installed a G5 and the software noticed I had a touch pad and only installed the mouse drivers.
