My first MP3 player was a 256MB USB Data/player stick. It had a small screen on the side. Loved that thing. Funny how I had more freedom with that than some of these latest MP3 players.

I have a Sansa-m250, really small and no-nonsense, good sound. I just got a Sansa Clip and I really love it, great sound quality for the price.

    Which Zune did you get?

And while at first I wasn't very impressed by the Zune software, I quickly got used to it as it uses a similar interface as the Zune itself and implements some nice features.

There are a bunch over here at Zune Boards: http://www.zuneboards.com/forums/download-completed-games-174/
I've downloaded a couple off there. I think you can also buy games from the Zune Marketplace.

Very nice, very nice. I hope you enjoy it!

I bought my 80 GB player off Amazon. They had the lowest price, free shipping, and no sales tax. :D

I found the Ipod to have the worst sound quality, but the Zune by far had the absolute worst software ever created. Everytime time they "updated" the software, it got worse. Also, the sound quality is quite poor (not as bad as ipod, but still bad), and there is no EQ!

I also used the Creative Zen... that was a bulky piece of crap too, with sound quality about equal to Zune (which isn't good).

Now I'm very happy with my Sony NWZ-A729. It's only 16GB, but the sound quality is exceptional. I don't hear all the distortion and MP3 artifacts that were prevalent in the above models. Listening to classical music through the Zune was almost un-bearable... But through the Sony, with it's endless amount of audio options, and crisp clear quality was a like a dream. The only real downside is that it's too small (only 16G's)... but I manage. I just keep my music on a rotation.

The best part is the software: BECAUSE THERE IS NO SOFTWARE. Yes... you heard right. Just drag and drop... done. Very simple, no buggy annoying software, no drivers, no anything. Plug it in and you can use it with any computer.

If you can deal with a smaller player, trust me on this... I've used all the big ones, and I've sold them all (Ipod, creative, zune).

I like the Zune software. The gui is fairly intuitive and I haven't had any syncing problems.

Ok I am still having issues deciding. One thing I am really having trouble with is finding good pictures or video (would be better) to see what the different players look like when playing music.
I know the resolutions, but what does it look like if you have a long song title, and what are the scrolling speeds for the song titles when a song is playing?
Aka, what do they look like in real world use (I am really only interested in playing music on whatever I decided on)...

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. :)

With the large screen of the 80 GB Zune, I don't think I've encountered any scrolling yet. At least, none that I've mentally registered. I'll take a look tomorrow and see how fast the text scrolls.

I can tolerate the zune software, though i would really prefer an open type system like Ardroth said. Just drag and drop.

Anyway to crack this baby open?

with zune's new firmware, i think the software is required. there may be some mods but i don't think there is drag and drop on the zune (unless you drag music from your desktop to the zune siftware window )

i second the zune. great audio quality, solid construction, thin, nice looking. both touch pad and clicking.and might i mention the awesome headphones it comes with?never tried them i jsut use the shures i bought.

Try not "sticking the USB fully in".
SAme on my little Sony - won't charge on a hub, unless, I just partially stick in my USB connection.
