Hello. Recently I noticed my mx518 mouse that came with the g1s is experiencing wear on the grip parts. The area when I put my pinky finger, the surface is worn off already. I only had this mouse for 2 months . To make it worse, I accidentally worn off the thumb area and made a big scratch with my cloth  .

I'm not sure what you're doing with your MX518, but I bought two of them around Christmas in 2005, and they're still going strong. The rubber grips on both sides seem pretty much as new. The only part worn is the Logitech logo (directly under the palm when held), which doesn't bother me one bit. Both mice are used daily.

my 518 is about a year old and everything is fine except for the logo wearing off^^ that does bother me a bit because i wish it would stay pretty forever =)

are you using a mousepad? if not, maybe that is the problem? i wouldnt know since i've been using a mousepad with every mouse ever since i started using computers.

Maybe the mx518 that came with the asus g1s uses differen material for the rubber grips. The wear I'm talking about is little, like its only the surface has been worn off that I can see the difference between the areas I touch, and the areas that I don't.

Heh, mine is what, 3 years old, if not more. The rubber on the side is getting pretty worn, but the Logitech logo looks as new... :p

However, the buttons are beginning to stick, which drives me mad...
