    isnt the deathadder optical too?

plus it is designed ergonomically too, the buttons are not too high and the scroll wheel is low enough to be used quickly

deathadder will not work on white surfaces. i don't know if that's a problem in all mice but that is my only qualm about it. It's light, it's comfortable, and feels nice. It's accurate and etc. What else you need to know?

I have three 518's. They work very well, except with a Mac. If you're using a Windows machine, I think you'll like it a lot. If a Mac is what you use, you'd probably be better off with the other mouse, IMO.

I've got a deathadder and you can't beat it for gaming. Its a laser mouse, and it worked on my white desk...as well as any other surface i've tried it on.

Quick response, feels nice. Needs some tweaking to get comfortable though, like any mouse. Got mine at 2000 dpi and sensitivity around 6.

Plus the lights on it are AWESOME. haha

Is this even a comparison? Come on man, DeathAdder FTW.

It's all personal preference of course; all Logitech mice have always felt the same to me which is why I don't buy them (desktop mice that is). Your best bet is to go to Best Buy or some other place and try them out.

ExtremeTech did a review on it and gave it 10/10. They basically never do that.

Actually guys the DeathAdder uses a 3G 1800dpi infrared sensor.

As Chaz said, find somewhere where you can try them out. Then go with the one you like.

I haven't tried the DeathAdder, but I really like my mx518. It's comfortable to use, accurate and responsive and just feels right. Can't complain. :)

They're both great mice. Personally, I prefer the Mx518. Can't really say you'll regret making either purchase though.

Which one would be better if I'm kind of a wrist/fingertip user? I heard that the logitechs were more for palm + arm people is that true?

How is razer driver quality? I'm done with logitech. At first, I thought it was temporary driver problems. 5 years later, I concluded it was company indifference.

I think the 518 is the best mouse ever, if you want wireless because this is a notebook forum and not a pc forum and wireless has abit more viablility in it for notebooks the NEW G5 or the G7 are both very similar to the 518 but not the same. I still think the 518 is better (and cheaper) However I do love my G7 for my notebook and use the 518 for my desktop.

I've never tried out the deathadder, but I've owned an MX510 for years before getting the updated G5. Love both mice as they are both comfortable and responsive.

Its the same size I believe. The scroll wheel on the G5 and probably G7 sticks out more than the MX518 to incorporate the tilt-wheel.

G7 is laser, mx is optical. G7 has higher usb reports and has a higher max dpi.

i had an mx518 and mx500, and quite honestly, i preferred the mx500 over the mx518, i know its older and all, but the way it moves and feels, i liked it a lot better

MX518 > G5/7 in every aspect except that it can't track on glass.

I just ordered a Deathadder, It's coming in the mail. It's gotten amazing reviews everywhere. People keep saying it's the greatest gaming mouse they've ever used. I think I'll write a review on it when it comes. I'll keep you posted.

Okay, so I think I'm down to two choices. I found a nice deal for an mx518 for $28, or just get a razer copperhead. I've tried both and I think they're both nice, though I haven't had a chance to game with the mx518. Any final opinions?
