so, since i first got my G9 the scroll wheel has significantly gotten slower (and yes, its set to hyperfast scrolling). Is it dirty inside? Is this normal?
i used to be able to flick the wheel once and scroll through a whole web page, but now i can only get about 3-4 pages down before it stops moving

Yea, it sounds like it's dirty. Get some canned air and try to blow it out.
How long have you had you G9? I've had one for 4 months and it's still as fast as the day I took it out of the box. -

Can't you change how fast it scrolls in the Logitech software, or via the Control Panel > Mouse configurations?

Same thing happened to me. I don't really use hyper-scrolling that much though. I'm almost positive it's because it's dirty which is preventing it from scrolling smoothly.
Felt so good when it was new -
ill get some compressed air sometime and try that out too. -
If there is hair or something spun around the axle, canned air isn't going to do much.

My G9 got clogged once, and it wouldn't even make a full revolution before catching on whatever was clogging it. Fortunately, Logitech has AWESOME customer service, and they just sent me a new one, free of charge.

its really not that bad, it was just nice to be able to scroll an entire web page with one flick of the wheel -
Don't mean to bring the thread back up but I was googling the issue and it brought me here. So I suppose I should send mine back to Logitech as well. Had mine for 4 months or so before the wheel would crap out in 3 seconds.

I can vouch for Logitech's CS. I had problems with the satin grip's coating bubbling and peeling off. Then I found out that former co-workers wife was product manager at Logitech. I told my co-worker about my G9 mouse situation... he contacts his wife, then asks me to give him my current G9 mouse. I do so, and the following day, he gives me a brand new, unopened G9 still sealed in the box. Logitech kept my old mouse for quality control / research purposes and gave me a new G9 for my troubles. Couldn't be happier with their staff
EDIT: yep, this is probably out of the norm, but definitely send Logitech CS an e-mail explaining your situation. I'm sure they'll try to help you out to their best ability. -
yeah, after about 10 emails back and forth they said to just forget about the numbers and they will replace it. I still need proof of purchase (which i sent to corsair for a mail in rebate lol)

Wow now that you guys mention it, my fat grip's coating is peeling off too. I thought it was just dirt where the thumb rests... but after me scratching off the "dirt" it was actually the coating. *Sigh*
I too sent my UPC for a rebate... I'm sure I have a copy of it though and I still have the original box as well if they want me to send that in -
