edit: added pic of orthos for 15minutes while playing iron man (most gpu.cpu game i have atm, cant find any of my games ahha)

almost done with my cooler, just have some finishing touches.
i also added some vents to the bottom of the laptop, i bought some replacement plastic kit that has covers for the hdd's and memory/wireless card.
idle = 10 minutes @ room tempature with screen on, no screensaver.
my idle temps without cooler average
    THR1- 45
    core1-38
    core2-37
    gpucore-52
    hdd1-37
    hdd2-36

my idle temps with cooler on low
    THR1-43
    core1-35
    core2-34
    gpucore-49
    hdd1-33
    hdd2-33

    idle with cooler on high
    THR1-38
    core1-28
    core2-27
    gpucore-46
    hdd1-26
    hdd2-25

have not tested it under load extensivly yet, but so far , running orthos blended and battle field 2 running for over and hour (i forgot orthos was running haha) hwm reported max temps:
    THR1-55
    core1-45
    core2-45
    gpucore-49
    hdd1-34
    hdd2-31
(was after fresh reboot i installed new drivers for g15 keyboard)
imma finish up testing and post some pics of the ugly beast of a cooler.

its a lexan sammich' , two peices of plexi with the fans in between.
two 120mm thermaltakes w/ leds (cuz it looks cool with plexi, yay) and manual speed controll, 1x 60mm fan on the 2nd hdd

the two thermaltakes are for the cpu/gpu heatsink area, the 2nd is for hdd1 and memory compartment.

my laptop is used as a desktop replacement, and i take it to work to do work stuff, so i dont needa cooler for that (the temps stay cool) but when i play games etc my temps would friggin' skyrocket. i looked at the bottom of my laptop and theres like, no vents at all. the ones that were there, had stickers covering most of them lol

so i needed a cooler and found absolutly nothing that i felt would perform to what i wanted. the zalman nc2000 costs too much to justify. same with that other popular ones, the fans are so small and placement is generic.
    decided to build my own.

    total price sofar:
    plexi sheets: 12.00
screws/nuts/bold: 4.00 (yay for generic box of bolts at walmart)
    fans total: 24.00
    ac-dc adapter: free
    weather stripping: free
    total (est) 40.00 bucks.

theres a huge difference in temps between vista and xp, the testing is being done in xp since i have it up and running 100% now, yay for that!
