    Hey guys,

I stumbled upon an article describing the capability of some of the newer nVidia cards to support 3d (provided one has 3d glasses and screen), and I was wondering if anyone has tried it out, and if its fun/cool/waste of time and money? :)

The whole multi-monitor gaming aspect is a big game changer. Big fan of Eyefinity and 2D Surround here.

But the 3D Surround...yuck. The glasses are a pain, the images are nice but after a while you do feel sick. Stand at a demo for the technology at Fry's and within 5 minutes I need to take the glasses off.

Unless they get the 3D technology to work without glasses like some companies...3D isn't going to take off.

I've seen many mid to large 3D displays without glasses and they all suck. Your eyes has to be at a certain horizontal and vertical angle, and be a certain distance from the panel in order to see 3D. If you loose the sweet spot, you'll see double vision. You'll have to move around to find that sweet spot again. Also the resolution is cut in half because half is for left eye and the other for right eye. You also have to concentrate on the 3D image in order for it to come alive. With 3D display that needs glasses the image is sharper due to full HD resolution IF they use 120hz and shutter glasses. If they use polarized glasses the resolution is cut in half unless they use dual projection system. Either way with 3D glasses, you dont have to worry about angles. With 3D videos comes dizziness because those stupid cameramen cant hold the camera still. They pan and move too much. Since you're looking at the image in 3D your brain will try to follow the image and adjust your balance according. Since you're standing still and your eyes seeing movement, you'll get sick much like car sickness or sea sickness.

Though I have not seen the Nintendo 3DS in person I can imagine that it's alot easier to see 3D on that tiny screen since you have to hold it in your hand. You can therefore tilt and shift to the desire angle for the perfect 3D experience.

3D is the biggest waste of time and money since that 80's show. Please don't jump on the already dying bandwagon.
