    need cooling pad-heats up crazy

    my laptop is a gateway m 6862 and today it shutdown by itself and i think its because it heat up like crazy, so what cooling pad should i get and i do use the laptop on my lap..

    Before investing in a cooling pad, I'd suggest giving your laptop a thorough cleaning if you haven't done so in the past few months. Use a can of compressed air to clean the fan blades and radiator inside of your laptop.

    Yeah i already did that a few week ago and did it today, and it still a little hot not as much as before..

    If it`s heating up more than when it was new and you have cleaned out the vents, check device manger in case something program is excessively using your CPU.

    Look at what you cpu usage is when your notebook it idle, it might be fluctuating between 0-10% but that is normal , any high could be a problem.
