    i bought some razer barracuda headphones. and i cant get the mic to work in game or on a ventrilo.

    any ideas?

    A lot, but we have to back out to the very beginning. Are you going into your Multimedia and Sound options via the control panel or the speaker icon in the SYSTRAY and changed the device settings for your playback and recording functions? Just plugging in the headphones does not change your actual device settings without manual intervention at the OS level.
