My daughter wants a wireless keyboard to use in her dorm room. She puts her computer on the desk and connects it to her 32" tv, and she wants to sit on the bed across the room and control it with her keyboard. She picked out a couple of models on newegg but when I look at the reviews it seems that neither one has very good range. So I start looking on newegg and find very few that don't have complaints about range. Bluetooth should give better range but there aren't very many of those to choose from and they are more expensive too. Here are the only ones I've found that look reasonable:

i don't think that a dorm room's size can be large enough for a wireless combo not to work...

my old OEM Dell and HP keyboard+mouse set can work across my room at home, around 20 feet....

Most people try to hide the wireless adapter away which can be a problem. As long as its out pointed toward her it should be fine.

I had the Logitech Pro 2400 Cordless Desktop for a few months and its range was excellent. I used it from as far as 25 feet away from the receiver with no problems. I upgraded to the Pro 2800 though because it comes with a much better mouse, the MX620, instead of the LX5 that comes with the Pro 2400. The keyboard is the same in both sets aside from the trim color.
