Is there anything wrong with carrying my laptop in a messenger bag? My 15.4 inch fits in there snugly, but theres alot of room on either side of it. Do you think this would hurt it, besides scratches and such?

Is it padded? Why cheapen out on getting extra protection by saving a few bucks and risk damaging your 1000 $ investment?

I'd get a sleeve too... Not worth risking it, you know. In the meantime, I suggest you carry it wrapped in a towel. It won't scratch, and you'll feel pretty silly doing it (this coming from someone who's done it), which will give you more of an incentive to hurry up and get a sleeve.
