i am looking for a notebook backpack but i was looking at the pictures for some of them and it looks like you can only put the notebook in them. Is there space for books too? because i want to be able to put my school books in it also. could anyone suggest a backpack for a 15.4in laptop thank you

I got http://www.rei.com/online/store/Pro...1&parent_category_rn=12353603&vcat=REI_SEARCH a few weeks ago, and it's a gret backpack. It's not very expensive, but it has TONS of room inside, and is the most comfortable laptop backpack I've used. There is tons of padding on the inside, and a nice padded bottom, which most of the bags I looked at didn't have. It has three main pockets with tons of compartments in them. If there is an REI in your area I'd recommend going and checking it out, I'm going to be writing up a review shortly for it.

REI is awesome...I have used an REI-brand (non-laptop) backpack for 6 years of hard grad-school-commute load-carrying and it has only just started looking anything other than new--and still hauls, zips up and snaps back in all the places it needs to. Get yourself the $15 lifetime coop membership and you'll be getting dividend checks for years on all the neat stuff you will find to pick up at REI.

To get back to Stunt_666's question: I tried and liked the Ogio Metroid backpack (not available at REI, though...try ebags or similar). It fits linear measurements of 14.5 by 10.5 inches and seems pretty protective and sturdy...and it has tons of space for other stuff--more textbooks and file folders than you should ever need for a day on campus.
