Sorry, I did do a search and found some coolers for the dv5z (which is 15.4 inches, as opposed to the 16 dv6t)

I am getting my dv6t in about 15 days , and will be doing a moderate amount of gaming. If it gets anywhere near as hot as my dv5z during gaming, I would like to get a cooler for it, just to be safe (a 40-80 dollar investment is nothing to insure a notebook from heat related issues)

So far, it seems that the Zalman NC2000 or the Cooler Master (no model specified) are the best options.

Can anyone point me in the right direction

I am picking up the Zalman NC2000 soon. The NC1500 is nicer than the NC1000, but the NC2000 is just plain win due to its built in storage for the usb cable and usb pass through.

HP's have a tendency to have a cool fan towards the back thats bottom fed. The zalman's nor any other design really feed that fan. My asus works with the zalmans design better as all the air intakes are on the forwards 3/4 section.

The zalman will keep the bottom of the chassis cool and ultimatly cool whats on the other side. It will help keep cool air under the laptop for the fan to draw in but doesnt typically reach the vent directly.

That really should not make the 2000 a win. The major reason to choose the 2000 is its ability to cool a larger area due to its larger cooling surface.

aren't the nc1500 and nc2000 about the same size? according to newegg, the nc1500 is made for notebooks up to 17".

and to the OP: if u are lookin to cool a laptop that will be used alot for graphic-intense programs/gaming. i would highly recommend the nzxt cryo LX. it will cover yur vent locations and push more CFM than the other 2 stated. the cryo LX's versatility is also unmatched by the other 2.

Mate if you're fans are located up near the top of your notebook, I'd recommend the NZXT CRYO LX Notebook Cooler.

The Zalman NC2000 is a great cooler, but you won't get the same cooling effect as the Cryo. Have a look at this thread:

    http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=368651&page=3

I had ordered the Cryo cooler after doing a fair bit of research between the 2 coolers. I have a Dell XPS M1730, once again the fans are located towards the "top" of the machine, so the Cryo would have been the way to go. Unfortunately the ordered was stuffed up and after receiving and hearing nothing for 4 weeks, I ended up cancelling in a huff...

One thing to note, the Cryo cooler is larger, and also a bit more "out there" looks wise. I think it looks good, but its not as conservative in the looks department as the Zalman.
