Can anyone explain to me how a notebook cooler works? I'm thinking of building a notebook cooler but I'm not entirely sure how it cools. thanks. :D

Many ways of going about this, personally I was forced to directly bolt a 300W amplifier heatsink to my laptop's cpu & gfx card (POS AW 766)

If you're bulding one for home the best way would be a a box or bed table type of structure with fitted large diamiter (quiet) fans, at radioshack & home depot prices under 50$

If you're building mobile you'll need a flat box approx 2 cm tall with fans forcing air INTO the box so that it blows onto the bottom... Always member DRs suck air from underneath... One side of the box would be flat and other have fans inserted at 90 degree angle to the plane with angled ductwork... Make sure that the fans are 5V and don't exceed your usb amperage since that's your source of juice and they are worthless... ALWAYS USE BRUSHLESS MOTORS ~70$ + some time but it will work unlike the storebought ones at BB

Make an aluminium dye to match your radiator on either side, use heat paste and connect to water cooler

    Hardcore level 2
Same but connected to fridge ductwork

    Hardcore level 3
Fill an aquarium with nonconductive fluid and stick the lappie on top, turn internal fans off and create movement in the fluid, can be mixed with fridge and aux water cooler
