Basically I'm looking for something light and trim to slip over and protect my laptop when it is in my backpack, as I've had it less than two weeks and there are already minor scratches. In other words, I don't need an entire carrying case--just something to protect it.

If no one can suggest anything, I suppose a sheet of bubblewrap will do ;)

Oh, keep in mind, your notebook is Wide Screen, that sleeve may not fit.

I have a bitolithic sleeve ( www.bitolithic.com), and it is pretty thin. The neoprene on that caselogic sleeve is about twice as thick, which is protective but it's also bulkier.

I actually bought another sleeve (a sumdex impactguard) because the bitolithic was too thin for me, I needed one with more protection.

www.ebags.com has a ton of sleeves, or you can just go to a local compusa or best buy and get one of the sleeves they have.

Pinder makes a pretty nice sleeve; water repellent exterior, a nice layer of foam on all sides. Not that you'd be able to swing your computer around to hit people with it, but a bit more shock absorption than a neoprene sleeve, in my opinion. Also comes with a removable shoulder strap if you want to use it as a bag.

Sadly, it was on sale up until the end of May. It's back to full price now. Still, something to consider at the least.

Thanks all. I figure that I'll probably just run down to Best Buy etc and pick up a sleeve...I mainly wanted to find out what exactly I was looking for, and any of these will do.

If you're looking for something more durable, zeroshock may be something you want to look at too. I've got one for my 710m and I wouldn't trade it for a plain ol' sleeve any day.

I would definitely recommend the SleeveCase by Waterfield Designs ( http://www.sfbags.com). I recently purchased one for my dell e1705 and couldn't be more pleased :D - slim design, snug fit, and provides a good level of protection for what I will be using it for, storage and carrying it around in a backpack. Also they have extra options that allow you to customize the bag to your needs, and by far the most personal customer service I have experienced.

I'm happy with my Sumdex Impact Guard sleeve - soft inside, polyurethane on all sides and good-looking (I got the red one :)
I bought the one for 15.4" laptop, it's a perfect fit. They're also making for 14.1", so you might want to check it out.

Yeah I also have Red Sumedex 15.4 Impact Guard. I also put nice Ferrari sticker on it so it looks much better! :D
