I'm looking for a 'laptop stand' that you can use on your lap.

i'm basically looking for a cheaper version of the iLap. It does everything I need perfectly; the only problem is that someone sat on mine* and now I need to get it replaced.

I was willing to pay the high cost (a really rather outrageous cost honestly) for mine because I expected it forever, but its too much for a replacement unit.

    I do NOT need:
    -a fan
    -ports

    I am looking for:
    -low cost
    -low weight
-comfortable (if i'm wearing shorts, i'd rather not have plastic/metal digging into my thighs)

    *don't ask

The Logitech Lapdesk N315 is the one that I got at Target for about $12. It does what it does- it's basically just a sheet of plastic. I love the slide-mousepad haha. The soft-touch top is nice and grippy, but is also a dust magnet. It gets seriously dirty very quickly.

The bottom is smooth plastic with two horizontal bands of some grippy rubber along the top and bottom. Not the most comfortable on your lap, but unless you're using an Alienware or replaced your hard drive with a brick, it's never very bothersome. Hope that helped haha!

thanks for the recommendation oinkmooblah. I'm already familiar with that model and i see the appeal of it. the only problem being i don't like rubber texture in general.

i'm thinking that there really is nothing cheaper than the iLap for the specs I need :(

I have this Logitech lapdesk N700 at home. I've seen simpler N500 around.

I've found it quite nice for hours on my reclining sofa. Good cushions make a huge difference.
