you should be able to pair the bluetooth mouse to the laptop and use it...

    how so

    I tried.

I tried making it recieve talk to devices but to no avail. I also lost all supporting cds and what not for the mouse but its plug and play so it always worked. Im sure I can download it but I duno if the software supports it tho if its dongle free. with mobile phones they actively send out signals to the bluetooth. With the mouse I dont seem to 'see' the mouse.

That should be straightforward. Set the mouse to discoverable mode (little button on the bottom; may need a pen to push it, though), and on your laptop search for devices. The mouse should show up, you connect, and you should be all set.

Just about any built in bluetooth should work on a mouse, but if you aboly cant figure it out try new bluetooth drivers, see if your laptop manufacturer has new ones, and if not try a 3rd party one like bluesoleil.

Your thinking RF, bluetooth is just one frequency and its universal. At the same time I think for some reason the OP also talking about a RF mouse and is trying to use it with bluetooth.

you shouldn't need to use the dongle if you already have BT internally.

There should be no problems if you have internal bluetooth. What OS are you using? I am using Vista and all i had to do the first time was associate the mouse with the laptop by pressing the little button under the mouse. After this first time, I never have to do that again. When the machine is rebooted, i just mouse the mouse and after a split second delay, the mouse and computer re associate again. I also did not install any software that came with the mouse, just used the default windows drivers. I have tried 2 different bluetooth mice from 2 different manufacturers and they both worked fine.

I also have a BT mouse, just picked up a Microsoft notebook 8000 presenter mouse. I was able to pair it to my Dell SXPS 16 without installing any MS software. All I did was press the button on the bottom of the mouse to make it discoverable and then did a search for BT devices on the SXPS. Once I saw the mouse I just followed the steps and it worked. I think if you want to program the buttons different that default though you'll need to install the MS software.
