I have a dell XPS 1210, but the power supply died. It's output is 19.5 V and 3.34A. I have a supply that fits frmo another notebook, but is 19 V and 3.32A. Does anyone know if this will work or am I better off getting the original cable?

1. Does the plug on the other PSU fit the computer?
2. Is the polarity the same (the middle is usually +ve - look for a symbol on the bottom of the PSU and by the power socket).
If both the above are OK then I would give it a try. 19V is close enough to 19.5V that the electronics should be happy and 3.32A is close enough to 3.34A than the computer won't know the difference.
However, even if the computer starts then it might not want to run. My Dell E6400 is able to detect the power rating of the PSU that it is connected to. Anyway, it is worth a try.
