Hi I need christmass Ideas for my parents... and last night there printer just died... so I think I am going get them a printer (there 15year old epson stylus CX400 COLOR died)
So I like Epsons but I've been reading reviews all over the there place and that are consistantly saying they aren't very good anymore...what do you think? (I have a 4year old CX4800 one my self).
so this is what it has to be.
1. <100$
2. reliable, I don't want to fight with this one
3. it doesn't 'gobble' ink like crazy.
4. refillable cartridges
Bonus:
3 in 1
user refillable cartridges (is a big bonus!!!!)
the most important is reliability not speed. anything I buy now will be faster that the 400...

I think most manufacturers would say cartridges are not user refillable because they want you to buy their ink, which costs more than caviar per ounce. Last time I checked and it's been a while, Canons were considered pretty miserly with the ink.

I have been reading reviews and it looks like...
some HP's use lots of ink
Epsons are cheap and don't last long anymore
Canon's use a huge amount of ink(important if cartidges cost
Brother... all over the place I just don't know
Lexmark = very high ink prices...
anything else out there that I missed? starting to think Laser is the way to go... then just buy a new one once it is out. -
Just check out Photosmart C4380 series(all in ones)...some models have wi-fi! I have a photosmart C4388 and I am very happy with it so far.
-
never mind, I can't find anywhere to buy one so that's out. -
Mileage is a bit on the lower side though...
