I know little about home printers, doing all of mine while I was working. I now need one at home. I expect to print initially documents and forms. Any suggestions and advice would be welcome.

Printing in black & white, or colour? What's your budget? How many pages do you expect to print per month? (guess) Gotta give us abit more info here.

A laser printer would most probably be the way to go, although more info is needed.

Color capacity is need to for color diagrams. $100 or under would be better.
Not certain about pages/month maybe 10's but it could escalate?

I'd recommend the Samsung CLP 325W color laser printer.
    Samsung CLP 325W Color Laser printer - 17 ppm - 130 sheets
It's $150, but it's as low as color laser printers go. It's not bad, too. (There's a HP printer for $15 less, but it's crap.)
The only cheaper option would be inkjet printer, but I'd recommend to stay away from them (ink is expensive, cartridges dry up if not used, slower printing).
