I apologize if their are other threads about tv tuners, but because "tv" is too short of a word, the search engine wasn't really working properly..

I have a few questions about tv tuners...
    A) are there any wireless tv tuners, let me explain.. ones that plug into your computer, but do not need to connect to the cable line.. or ones that have a second unit that connects to the cable line and then wirelessly transmits the signal?? (I want to be able to be free/ move around with the laptop without havinog the wire in the way)

    B) What are the differences in the softwares between different tuners, do all of them allow you to record programs that you missed (sort of like a DVR?)

    C) What are the ones that you guys prefer, I opted not to get the built in one in my Compal IFL 90, just because I was unsure if it was a good make etc... I hope that wasn't a bad descision..

    Thanks!!

I was debating getting a tv tuner in my lappy, but here in the next year or two, all tv signals are being converted to digital. And Alienware's tv tuner (I dont know about other brands) uses ntsc, the current signal. So in two years, it will be obsolete.
