for 2 months now, i have owned a razer mamba 2012 due to my personal preference and despite software warnings i still gave it a go, then, a week ago, it just got bricked without any reason i'am aware off. the scroll became laggy for minutes, i did a calibration and all the leds went dark, whenever i plug the mamba in the usb in my laptop, it cannot be recognized whatsoever.
googling for days in the internet i have tried a lot of things (install, uninstall, clean, plug/unplug) several stuff i have done with the latest drivers. until i realized a basic thing.
the bootloader, you can actually flash the mouse after bricking it, the bootloader folder under program files/mamba/update bundle 2012 (with the application x64 bit dpinstall) install it and run the mamba bundle updater (with the mamba plugged in wired mode of course) then do a firmware update (should be the latest firmaware 1.07 i think) and it will update itself, then do the dock calibration and the leds will light up again. all the settings and profiles before will be reset and you have to make a new config once you run the mamba software configuration.
i was really this close of giving an RMA and its not pretty since the time and location are not in my favor, somehow i found out several solutions like this in the internet. i think this is the last resort by long shot if you're mamba has stopped working. its just amazing that a software bump can brick your mamba completely. im just sharing this coz this is based on my experience.

Nice find! Congrats on sorting it out yourself! Will definitely keep this in mind just in case mine may go haywire one day.

thanks, its like some sort of 'System Restore' like the one we have in windows OS. it will erase all the previous updates and restore it to its factory version (both the mouse and dock are calibrated seperately) as long as the mamba is still intact (no damage or clean of dirt etc) this solution should be good and accurate, what will happen is it will erase all the flash (ironically enough that the mamba owner doesn't know when and why) restore the default factory settings (to 1.03 firmware) and automatically do a firmware update to 1.7 (well of course if you have 1.7 installed
lolz)
imho, it could be that only a handful of mambas are really fubar as the consumers experience it, maybe some of the usual 'software bug' could be solved by this one instead of doing an rma immediately. its really a good try instead of doing all the hassle (if things comes to worse anyway)
