I think it has just the right amount of padding. I feel safe with it... Whatever you buy I suggest trying it out (if possible) at a store...

I have the Wenger(Swiss Army) Synergy backpack. You can get them at most stores now such as CircuitCity, BestBuy, and many more. The padded compartment(front, back and bottom are padded) fits upto 15.4" screen but heard that a 15.4" will be a super tight fit and not be able to zip it up. I have a 14.1" screen and it fits it perfectly.

I do. It's great. Very well made and the laptop protection air pockets are fantastic. I could use a few more utility areas but it's almost perfect.

I also have the Swiss Army Backpack. Bought it at HPshopping along with my dv5000z when it had $15 off, plus a $10 coupon & free shipping :)

I saw a sale of this model for around $40 in Buy.com some time ago but since I paid around $45 I think I got a good deal.

Pretty sturdy, nice looking with lots of bags everywhere and fits the 15.4 in perfectly ;)

I use the SwissGear Synergy Backpack by Wenger. The padding is excellent and there are plenty of compartments. Whether it is light to carry is relative. I would say that it is comfortable enought to carry behind your back. I bought mine at Ebay before Christmas 2005 for less than U$50 shipping included so that certainly was a very pretty good deal.

does anyone know anything about the 2006 model of the ogio sector-z, i guess where the laptop was stored before wasn't very padded but this time i believe they have it as a side loading instead of the top loading...anyone know the pros or cons to the side loading...i'm thinking about getting that bag or the ebags downloader laptop backpack to store an e1505
