I have the HP Pavilion dv2000 "special edition" laptop, and my charger just recently broke at the end you insert into the computer. I wanted to know where I should look for another one.
Also, I was looking on ebay for one and some chargers that are for sale say theyre compatible with DV2000. Is there a difference between DV2000 and what is inscribed on my computer, dv2000?

    thanks in advance! ;)

    Unlikely, IMO.

Check the DC voltage (V) and current (A) on the label on the bottom of your computer and see how they compare with any charger you plan to get. The voltage needs to be the same. The current rating on the charger can be higher (the computer only takes what it needs). The other thing to get right is the plug on the charger.

The quality of the charger is also important, low requirement on voltage ripple could damage your computer.
