Is there any wireless routers out there better than US Robotics? I don't know if it's just a lemon I have or what....

The thing is that I don't know the reason why it does it, I can only guess, but I think it could be bandwidth overload or something....anyway the router "acts up" once a week or every two weeks and actually DROPS at least the wireless connection, my Dell can stay connected just fine.

I do anything from unplugging the router for two minutes (it has no power switch) and plugging back in to powering down both laptop and desktop, depowering router and DSL modem for 5 minutes, powering up router then modem and rebooting and I still would have problems for a week to the day that the problem starts. It's weird, it just has this problem for a week and I get a week of grief of spending most of my free time tied down to the computer room trying to fix the router and it still takes a week at best to correct.

My nephew and sister think I'm full of bull but this has to be at least a coincidense that my nephew was trying to log onto Second Life on the desktop and that's when the router went down. They say that it goes down on me too but still the last time the router acted up was from Aug 28th to Sept 4th and it was working JUST FINE UNTIL he tried to log onto SL.

    Coincidense? Too much.....

This may not be your problem but I will relay my issues I used to have with my wireless router (linksys). I used to lose connection just about everyday and then it would come back and this went back and forth for a few weeks before I finally figured out that it was my cordless phone that was causing the issue. It operated on just about the same frequency as the router. I tried changing channels on the router and it didn't help. Bought a new cordless phone, making sure it isn't even close to the frequency of the router and I haven't had a single problem since.

I forgot to mention that I've had the router since Oct/Nov of last year and it's the Wireless Max-g type. I did google it and saw two other accounts of what appeared to be a similar problem.

I'm still here guys and I think the wifi transmitter could be dead, this is the second day since the wifi went down, numerous refreshes and it didn't come back once. :( Not even for two minutes.
