    Guys, a quick question:
Have you ever used a screen protector for your laptop? I use screen protector on my iPod and cellphone, but I've never used a screen protector on my laptop. Do you think it's worth the money to buy one for the laptop? Does it really help to protect the screen or to make it easier to clean the screen?

I am actually trying to find one as well. I work/live with a lot of people that point and touch my screen. I had one guy at work today use a pencil on mine, royally pissed me off. I just need some slim profile, non sticky thing to attack to the bezel raise above the screen.

That stuff is perfect for flat screen, mobiles, and cases. I have contemplated if it would look good on the G2S...it has a lot of different levels and such, and even with a scratch its not as bad as a single tone panel. For the screen I am searching for just a cover, less permanent so I can take it off and such, but this is probably what I will end up doing. Thank you.

the invisibleSHIELD is easy to take off, it does not even leave any marks.

pretty, I have it on my Palm, and put it on my notebook already... you cant even tell its there at all.

Here are my recent pics of my screen, you cannot even tell that it has anything on it:

I have a scratch on my 1705, 2.5", that could have been prevented if i didn't hate screen protectors so much in the past. Their sort of like prophylactics ;)

Thank you for that post Gophn. If you cannot tell the difference, then that makes it a way better deal. My current palm TX has a palm screen protector, and it is fuzzy, scratched, bubbles, milky; all the bad things that the i-shield fixes. Maybe I will take apart the screen assembly and get a good measurement to apply the shield on edgeless, does that sound like a good idear? or a way to void all the great asus warranties?

Hey Gophn, when you apply the film one, did any of the solution go inside the bezel when you use the squeegee? I am concerned the solution will ruin the screen.

    Thanks

the solution should be used lightly under the protector, enough to get the area moist... so you squeegee the protector down and the solution just dries if it is not under the protector after you squeegee everything.

Did you remove everything to get the entire screen, or just the viewable area? I am torn between taking apart my screen to get the exact specs to give to them to cut.

i did not take anything apart.

just make sure the notebook is off and the AC power and battery is removed until it dries.

Okay- I'm not getting this concept-

On the invisibleSHIELD site, they list their "standard coverage" as "Top, wrist rest, track pad and mouse button(s)." for any notebook I clicked on. None of the laptop descriptions mention "LCD panel"...which is VERY important to me as I'll be taking my rig to the desert this summer, and after seeing how my brother's laptop screen got hammered by the dust and sand, I don't want the same to happen to my machine.

So- do these "protectors" in fact cover the LCD screen, or is it something to protect the finish of the painted parts of the notebook?

Any clarification you can offer would be appreciated!

Gophn- I ordered the one for the m570RU, and it arrved today and it's not right at all. It seems more like a 15.4" protector, as even the backing paper isn't big enough for my Pavilion dv9000 screen.

Are you sure that's the one you ordered? You and I both know that machine is a 17", but do they??

You can use the M570RU screen protector... its a standard 17" widescreen size that would fit 17" notebooks.

Well.... i intend to buy the invisible shield for my dv9500, after i was happy with the protection it gave my ipod, However, the invisible shield that covers the body of the laptop isnt suitable for the screen (I know...I was disapointed too), but i found many great products on ebay that offer screen protection for less than £10. I hope this has helped you. :) :) :) :)
